NATCHEZ — Channel Control Merchants, the parent company of Dirt Cheap, Treasure Hunt and Dirt Cheap Building Supplies — has filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy
The Hattiesburg-based company originally known as Hudson’s Salvage collectively filed under HDC Holdings II LLC on Thursday, Oct. 10.
With a final court hearing date of Nov. 7, 2024, all stores are expected to be closed by year’s end, according to other news reports.
Signs placed in the Natchez location last weekend announce “Store Closing” and 40 to 90 percent off sales in throughout the entire store.
A spokesperson at the Natchez location said that no final closing date is known, though the store is still open and busy with customers taking advantage of these sales.
With store locations in Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Texas, Georgia and Tennessee, the company is known for buying and procuring secondary merchandise, including excess inventory and customer returns, from major retailers and selling the products through retail stores directly to customers and through wholesale channels to other off-price retailers or e-tailers.
