Tuesday, Oct 8: Latest developments on Category 1 Hurricane Leslie from the NHC

According to the National Hurricane Center’s 4 pm Tuesday advisory, Category 1 Hurricane Leslie is 1490 miles west-northwest of the Southernmost Cabo Verde Islands, with maximum sustained wind of 75 mph. It’s moving at 14 mph to the northwest.
“Little change in strength is expected through Wednesday night.” forecasters explained. “Weakening is expected to begin Thursday.”
There were numerous changes today: Leslie formed and strengthened into a tropical storm then into a Category 1 hurricane with sustained winds of 75 mph.
