NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Dorothy Marie Morgan, 55, of Natchez, who departed this earthly life on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024, in Natchez, will be held on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024, at 1 p.m. at the Greater New Jerusalem Apostolic Healing Temple Church with Pastor Demetris Stringfellow officiating.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024, from noon until the time of the service at the church.

Burial will follow at the Milford Baptist Church Cemetery until the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Dorothy was born April 19, 1967, in Chicago, the daughter of Farcine Morgan and Sammuel Herbert. Dorothy attended Alcorn State University and was employed with AJFC. She was a faithful member of the Greater New Jerusalem Apostolic Temple Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, missionary, and usher. Dorothy loved serving the Lord, spending time with her family, and being active in her church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Jessie Morgan and Manuel Morgan; brother, Dennis Morgan; and sisters, Elouise Morgan and Mildred Morgan.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Decervassia Morgan (Austin); honorary daughter, Denise Thomas (Tyrone); brother, Ray Morgan (Angela); sister, Alice Morgan (Earnest); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
