Natchez High School sophomores completed a financial literacy exercise on Thursday morning where each had to complete a budget with their assigned career and family makeup. The exercise was led by representatives from Regions Bank.
LaRose Moore from Regions Bank explains to students the rules of the exercise. “You need to plan wisely and play the game of life smart,” Moore said.
Each student visited a table attended by a Regions Bank worker in the Natchez High School gymnasium to fill out their budget sheet. They picked out their house and utilities and subscriptions to services like Cable or Netflix. They also had to roll the dice for an unexpected event, such as a flat tire or a new job. Some students had to pick out a second job to balance their budget.
Below are scenes from the eye-opening exercise at Natchez High School.
