Murder suspect who escaped from Wilkinson County Jail back in custody

WOODVILLE — Residents of Wilkinson County and the surrounding area were put on alert late Wednesday after a man who’d been charged with murder and aggravated assault escaped the Wilkinson County Jail.
Jaccory Carr, 26, was reportedly back in custody as of Thursday morning.
Carr, a pre-trial detainee facing charges of murder and aggravated assault, managed to escape from custody at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Wilkinson County Sheriff’s Office issued a public safety alert following Carr’s escape from the Wilkinson County Jail.
The Natchez Democrat has contacted the sheriff’s office for further comment on the escape.
