Approval for a variety of city projects on agenda for mayor and aldermen on Tuesday

NATCHEZ — Community Development Director James Johnston and Public Works Director Justin Dollar plan reports about a variety of city projects at Tuesday’s meeting of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen.
The meeting is set for 11 a.m. at the Council Chambers, 115 S. Pearl St., Natchez.
On the agenda, Johnston plans to update aldermen on repairing and resurfacing the exhibition wall partition at the Natchez Convention Center.
Johnson also plans to discuss with the aldermen:
• Daisy Street Emergency Watershed Program, receiving of bids Natural Resource Conservation Service.
• Natchez City Cemetery Columbarium Walks and Landscape Project approval of pay estimate number 5.
• FY25 EPA Community-Wide Assessment Grant Environmental Protection Agency.
• City of Natchez Forks to Freedom Park Community Project Funding Award, Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Dollar plans to discuss the Downtown Natchez Infrared Asphalt Repair Project with aldermen. Dollar is requesting a motion to seek quote bids to complete the specified asphalt repair project on the following streets, in lieu of the previously advertised micro seal project: Main Street, Franklin Street, and cross streets.
Dollar also plans to discuss the mill and overlay of Canal and Homochitto streets. Dollar requests a motion to seek bids to mill and overlay those streets using fiscal year 2025 budget funds.
City Planner Frankie Legaux will ask Aldermen for approval to purchase signs for the Natchez Historic District.
City Clerk Megan McKenzie will seek approval for a number of docket entries, fund transfers, and personnel reports.
Mayor Dan Gibson will report on a “fair chance” initiative for contractors hoping to receive city projects, update on code enforcement efforts, and provide other miscellaneous updates.
