CONCORIA PARISH — In August 2024, the Louisiana State Police Special Victim’s Unit (LSP SVU) was contacted by the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office to conduct an investigation concerning illicit acts involving a 15-year-old juvenile and a CPSO Deputy.  The allegations were inappropriate contact between the CPSO Deputy and a juvenile prisoner while in transit to a juvenile facility.

On Aug. 30, 2024, LSP SVU conducted interviews and identified the suspect as 27-year-old Javontrics Murphy of Natchez, MS.  As a result of the investigation and information obtained, arrest warrants were acquired for Murphy.  The arrest warrants were issued for first-degree rape (3 counts), malfeasance in office (4 counts), obstruction of justice, and simple battery.

On Sept. 5, 2024, Murphy was arrested and booked into the CPSO Detention Center for the above charges.  The investigation remains active and ongoing.  No further information is available at this time.
