NATCHEZ — Funeral services for Michael M. Owens, 71, of Natchez, who departed this earthly life on Monday, Sept. 2, 2024, in Natchez will be held on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2024, at 11 a.m. at New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor LeRoy White officiating.

Burial will follow at Old Mt. Plain Church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Michael was born Jan. 15, 1953, in Natchez, the son of Florence Owens and Joe Jones.  He attended North Natchez Adams High School and worked as an oilfield worker and city worker until he retired.  Mr. Owens was a member of New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He enjoyed fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents: Lee Owens, Florence Owens Campbell and brothers, Charles Owens and Darrell Owens.

Michael leaves to cherish his memories:  his wife, Carolyn Green Owens; sons: Kenrice R. Green, Sr. and Adrin Green; daughter, Kisha Pruete (Ernest); brother, Agusta Owens; sister, Martha Ann Owens, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
