Funeral services for Carrie Juliette Evans, 85, of Natchez, who died on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, in Natchez, will be Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Windy Hill #1 Baptist Church with Pastor John Scott, Jr., officiating.
Burial will follow at the Windy Hill #1 Church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Carrie was born on April 8, 1939, the daughter of Easter Smith Evans and Orrick Metcalfe Evans. She was a graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School. She was employed with the General Hospital in Natchez and Bolye–Midway in Chicago. Carrie was a member of the Windy Hill #1 Baptist Church. She enjoyed caregiving, cooking, and being around her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Nevada Campbell, Maggie Evans, Roberta Logan, and Viola Cook; brothers, Metcalfe Evans, Jr., James Edward Evans, Albert Morris Evans, Louis B. Evans, Henry Evans, Sr., and Wilbert Lee Evans.
Carrie leaves to cherish her loving memory: one sister, Mary-Mildred Flournoy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
