NATCHEZ – Memorial services for James Lewis Sr, 101, of Vidalia, who passed away on Aug. 6, 2024, at his residence will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Marshall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Jacob officiating under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024, at Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Natchez from noon until service time.

James was born on Oct. 17, 1922, in Lake End, LA, to Gus Lewis Jr. and Irene Thomas Lewis.

His service in the military was a testament to his patriotism and dedication to the greater good. James found immense joy and satisfaction in gardening, a passion he pursued with great enthusiasm. His garden was not just a source of fresh produce, but also a reflection of his nurturing spirit. His infectious smile and positive outlook on life made him a beloved presence in the lives of those around him. There is peace in the valley, RIP Dad.

James leaves to cherish his memories, many family members and friends.
