City to hear results of FY2023 audit at Tuesday meeting

NATCHEZ—The Mayor and Board of Aldermen will hear the results of the city’s fiscal year 2023 audit at their meeting on Tuesday.

Carr Hammon, a certified public accountant with Silas Simmons, will make that presentation.

The meeting is set to begin at 11 a.m. at 115 S. Pearl St. in the Council Chambers.

Also on the Tuesday meeting agenda:

• Mimi Miller of the Historic Natchez Foundation will seek approval to purchase and locate a marker on the public park on the north end of the Natchez Bluff for Jerold D. Krouse in memory of his family.

• Natchez Insurance Agent Fred Parker will seek approval for the renewal of the city’s health insurance plan.

• Kevin Miers, executive director of the Downtown Natchez Alliance, will provide aldermen with an update and budget for fiscal year 2024-2025.

• Hayden Kaiser of Jordan, Kaiser and Sessions engineering firm, will discuss with aldermen recent change orders on work under way for the city.

• Aldermen will also hear reports and requests from city department heads and will receive updates on city business from Natchez Mayor Dan Gibson.
