NATCHEZ – Mrs. Mignon Teresia Waller-White, 65, of Natchez, peacefully passed away on July 18, 2024, while at Adams County Nursing Center. Memorial services will be held to honor her memory at Abundant Life Church in Natchez on Friday, Aug. 16, 2024, at 11 a.m.
Mignon was born on Nov. 27, 1959, to the late Harold and Jimmie Waller of Natchez. Mignon graduated from South Natchez High School and went on to study journalism at the University of Southern Mississippi where she earned her bachelor’s degree. She loved journalism and the ability to follow local police and firemen while working for The Natchez Democrat early in her career.
She was a resolute follower of our Lord and was strong in her faith. She was able to ease the minds of her physicians by letting them know she was not sad by her short prognosis as she knew where she was going. She knew she would have an everlasting life in the arms of Jesus. She was an active member of Abundant Life Church in Natchez where she continued to visit until her disease no longer allowed.
Anyone that had the pleasure of meeting her, knew she loved her feline companions. There was no conversation great or small that didn’t include at least one of them. She loved all animals, but her cats were by far her most cherished. Along with cats, she collected bells in which she had an extensive collection from various unique places.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Jimmie Waller; her sister, L’Iska Tarver, and her husband of 25 years, Jerry White.

Mignon is survived by one son, James Thomas Hammond; brothers, Pete Waller and Mike Waller (the late Jennie Waller); sister, Jennifer Krae Waller; nephew, Michael Scott Waller, and nieces, Kathryn Krea Waller Gorsha, Teresa Kate Tarver Fontenot and Christine Marie Tarver LeFranc.
In lieu of flowers, she requested donations be made to an animal shelter of your choice or Abundant Life Church in Natchez. The family would like to thank Adams County Nursing Center for their care while she resided with them and an incredibly special thank you to Deaconess Hospice and Dr. Yarbrough for their excellent care when she needed it most.
