FAYETTE – Funeral services for Dorothy Mae Brown Reed, 82, of Fayette, who died on Sunday, July 21, 2024, in Jackson, will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the New Revelation Healing Temple in Fayette at 2 p.m. with Pastor Antoine Eakins officiating.

Burial will follow at the Hollywood Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 5:30 until 7 p.m. at the Fayette branch and on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Dorothy was born on March 29, 1942, the daughter of Geneva Colbert and Joseph Ford. She was educated in the Jefferson County Public School system. Dorothy was a homemaker. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Zaddie Whitaker; brothers, Willie Mosley, Sr., Jessie Mosley, and Gabe Mosley; sister, Mary Mosley; and her husband, Robert Reed.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory: sons, Samuel Brown (Melody) and Hines Brown; daughters, Mattie Brown and Christine Bailey; seven grandchildren; twenty-six grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
