ROXIE – Funeral services for Michael Bolin, 63, of Roxie, who died on Saturday, July 20, 2024, in Roxie, will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Hamburg at 11 a.m. with Rev. Lamar Briggs officiating.

Burial will follow at the Roxie Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the First Roxie Baptist Church in Roxie and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Michael Bolin was born to Luther Bolin, Jr. and Geraldine Bolin on July 20, 1961. He attended Franklin County High School. Michael was a career carpenter. In his earlier years, he was employed with Georgia Pacific and Fidelity Tire Company. In his spare time, Michael enjoyed deer hunting and loved spending time with his family. He was a generous giver of his time, talents, and resources.

Michael is preceded in death by his wife, Velmon Nichols Bolin; parents; his grandparents, Rev. Luther Bolin, Sr., and Warrie Bolin; and brothers, Rev. Edward Lee Bolin (Mary) and Timmy Bolin.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory: two children, Marcus Bolin and Michelle Bolin (Greg); eight siblings, Joyce (Abram) Dunbar, Billy (Gloria) Bolin, Delores (Clifford) Flenory, Charles (Tonya) Bolin Norma (Reuben) Wilder, Audrey Farmer, Brenda (Lawrence) Jones, and Luther (Paula) Bolin III; four grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
