VIDALIA, La. — A 22-year-old Vidalia man has been arrested for molestation of a juvenile under 13, authorities said.

According to a Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office news release, CPSO began investigating an adult subject identified as Dameon D. Mayes of 127 Morris Road on Saturday, July 20 after alleged inappropriate sexual contact with a minor.

Evidence was recovered which substantiated the allegations and Mayes was arrested Monday by the Catahoula Parish Sheriff’s Office, authorities said.

No further information was released.

Anyone who is arrested is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
