NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Laura Ann Jones, 86, of Natchez, who died on Friday, July 5, 2024, in Natchez, will be Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church at 1 p.m. with Pastor Douglas Logan officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 4 until 5 p.m. and on Saturday from noon until the time of the service at the church.

Laura was born Oct. 15, 1937, the daughter of Anneliza Clark Washington and Archie Washington, Sr. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Mother’s Board.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Jones; sons, James Lee Washington (Janice) and George Henard Jr.; brothers, Jessie Washington, James Washington, Joseph Washington and Archie Washington Jr.; and sister, Pearl McDuffie.

Laura leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Joyce Gentry; sister, Mary Jane Washington; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
