NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Joseph Cedric Wilkins, 59, of Natchez, who died on Thursday, June 27, 2024, in Natchez, will be Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 11 a.m. at West Gate Funeral Home (George F. West, Sr. Memorial Chapel).

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Joseph was born Nov. 1, 1964, the son of Vera Wilkins and Elisha Wilkins, Sr. He enjoyed playing checkers, listening to music, collecting Hot Wheels, hats, wallets, and watches; exercising, watching television, going riding with the family, and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents, Louise Morrison and Oscar Stevenson; paternal grandparents, Lidge Wilkins and Mary Watkins; and sisters, Merelyn Wilkins, Carol Watson, and Ramona Wilkins.

Joseph leaves to cherish his memories: brothers, Elisha Wilkins, Jr., Ronald Wilkins, and Juan Wilkins; sisters, Mary Lee Johnson (William), Bonnie Bonds, Shelia Terrell (Henry), Juanita Gooden (Ernest), and Gwen Barnes; a special niece, Lyvonne “Flossie” Mason (Reggie); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
