NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Josephine Lee Harris, 99, of Natchez, who departed this earthly life on Sunday, June 16, 2024, in Natchez will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Greater New Zion Baptist Church with Pastor Alfred Smith officiating.

Burial will follow at the Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, from 3:30 until 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Josephine was born Sept. 29, 1924, in Natchez, the daughter of Annie Jones and Sam Lee. She was retired from Natchez Water Works and served on the Mother Board at her church. In her spare time, she enjoyed visiting nursing homes, cosmetology, sewing, making draperies, and interior decorating.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Sam Lee, Jr., Robert Lee, and Tommy Lee; sisters, Sallie Johnson and Laura Lee; and niece, Debra Butler.

Josephine leaves to cherish her memories: son, Norman R. Gray, Jr.; daughters, Loma G. Lewis and Frances Jackson Sinclair; grandchildren, Cassandra Williams, Jacqueline Perez, Chiquita Carter, Frederick Williams (Tamara), and Nameka Walker (Charles); nieces, Carla Dorsey and Samanthy Lee; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
