NATCHEZ — A months-old vacancy on the Natchez-Adams School Board could be filled as early as next week.

At a meeting of the Adams County Board of Supervisors Wednesday, the board set June 10 as the date to interview the eight candidates in line to fill the opening.

The school board spot has been open since March when Kenneth Taylor’s term ended.

Taylor is not seeking reappointment.

Supervisor Darryl Grennell said all candidates will be interviewed in one day and a decision will likely be made that afternoon.

“That’s the way it’s been done traditionally,” Grennell said.

The school board nominees are: Cynthia Barfield, Wayne Barnett, Pam Frank, Terry McGruder, David Troutman, Dr. David Timm, Cleveland Watts and Nellie Wimberly.
