NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Eugene Skipper, 70, of Natchez, who died on Friday, May 24, 2024, in Natchez, will be Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the Grove A.M.E. Church at 11 a.m.

Burial will follow on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 6 until 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Eugene was born on April 17, 1954, the son of Hattie Dennis – Skipper. He was retired and a member of the Grove A.M.E. Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed dancing, fishing, and a lot of “Turkey Turkey.”

He is preceded in death by his mother; Charles Skipper, Leonard James Skipper, and Susie Connie Skipper.

Eugene leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Veronica Skipper; sons, Tromon McMorris and Darrin McMorris; daughters, Nicole Joseph and La’Quita Spikes; sister, Deidre Stokes; grandchildren, Gabrielle Remy, Emorie Carter, Brooklynn McMorris, Cameron McMorris, Cadyam Spikes, Carl Spikes, Shawn Spike, Ethan Spike, Darrin McMorris, Darral McMorris, Navela McMorris; and a host of other relatives and friends.
