LORMAN —Alcorn State University head football coach Melvin Spears and his staff will host the first Melvin Spears Football Camp starting June 5 on the school’s campus.
Spears said the goal of the camp is to provide youth with the finest football instruction in all phases of the game.
Players will be divided into groups according to age and position so that individual skills can be developed through flexibility exercises and a strength program. All activities will be non-contact.
Each participant can choose between the overnight camp and the day camp. All activities will be supervised, and designated staff will stay in the dorm with participants. Daily activities include swimming, movies, highlight films and recreational room activities.
Those coaches teaching during the camp will be Michael Roach, Tramon Douglas, Eugene Daniel, Bruce Eugene, Louis Green, ‘Zeus’ Hall, Marshall Hayes, Todd McDaniel, Darius Matthews and Clinton Moseley.
Anyone interested in the camp can call 601-877-3924 or 601-877-6500 and ask for Spears or Kulmoris Joiner for additional information.
