NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Jo Lucille Butler, 69, of Dallas, TX, formerly of Natchez, who departed this earthly life on Wednesday, April 117, 2024, in Dallas will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 11 a.m. at New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Roderic Lewis officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Andrews A.M.E. Church Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Jo Lucille was born Nov. 11, 1954, in Natchez, the daughter of Rufus and Mable Gibson. She graduated from South Natchez Adams High School and retired. Ms. Butler was affiliated with the Inspiring Body of Christ Church in Dallas, TX. She enjoyed cooking and softball.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Willie Hunt and Robert Gibson.

Her life will forever be cherished in the lives of her daughter, Keisha Butler; granddaughter, KeVonna Wanzer; brothers, Aaron Gibson, David Gibson, and Ronnie Gibson; sisters, Patricia Gibson, Marilyn Foster, Betty Hunt, and Patricia Lewis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
