Control burn today near Cranfield, U.S. 84; No need to call 911

NATCHEZ — Adams County residents should be aware of a control burn today that will cause smoke to rise in the area of U.S. 84 and Cranfield Road.
A community message sent via the county’s CodeRED messaging system by Fire Response Coordinator Darryl Smith said the U.S. Forest Service will be burning 1255 acres today.
“Smoke will be heading toward Cranfield Road and Highway 84 area,” Smith said. “There will be no need to call 911. This is a control burn. Thanks, and be safe.”
