NATCHEZ — The Adams County Sheriff’s Office has made another arrest in relation to the aggravated assault and gunfire incident that began at a Natchez gas station on Saturday.
On Tuesday morning, Breanna Nicole Stumps turned herself into Adams County Sheriff’s Office Investigators. She was wanted on a charge of Accessory Before the Fact stemming from her alleged involvement in an aggravated assault incident on Saturday.
That incident involved the arrest of Ricky McGrudger for aggravated assault on Sunday. The incident took place on Saturday. McGruder is alleged to have assaulted a passenger in a vehicle at a gas station in south Natchez, then followed that vehicle to a business on Colonel Pitchford Parkway. A Good Samaritan who witnessed the assault at the gas station, followed McGruder to the parking lot on Colonel Pitchford, fearing for the safety of the passenger and the driver of the other vehicle. At that time, McGruder pulled a gun on the Samaritan and fired shots.
“Anyone involved before or after a crime has been committed, and we can prove it, our agency is going to charge you,” said Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten. “We cannot have a society of people who assist in crimes taking place and there not be any repercussions.”
Justice Court Judge Danny Barber set Stumps’ bond at $25,000.
