Natchez Middle School tech students, teacher win statewide honors

NATCHEZ – The Natchez Middle School Chapter of the Technology Student Association came away from the state competition with big wins and bids to national competition.
The students recently participated in the Mississippi State Technology Student Association competition held in Natchez. During the event, students showcased their skills and creativity as they exemplified the true spirit of teamwork, innovation and sportsmanship.
Cheree Irving, Natchez Middle School TSA director, was named State of Mississippi TSA Middle School Teacher of the Year.
Students placing in the competition and earning a bid to the national competition in Orlando this June included:
- 1st place for Promotional Marketing: Eighth-grader Cora Allen.
- 2nd Place for Leadership Strategies: Sixth-grader Khloe Bassett, seventh-grader Kavion Curtis and eighth-grader Alaya Mize.
- 4th place Children Stories: Sixth-grader Khloe Bassett, sixth-grader Amya Groce, seventh-grader Johnette Knight and sixth-grader Jasmine Timmons.
