NATCHEZ – Services for Marguerite French Chance, 96, of Natchez who died Monday, March 25, 2024, in Natchez will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Laird Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 until 10 a.m. prior to the services on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Laird Funeral Home.

Ms. Chance was born Jan. 11, 1928, in Hamburg, MS the daughter of Clyde French and Tiny Martin French.

She was a longtime member of Cranfield Baptist Church where she had served as the bookkeeper. Most of all she was a devoted wife and precious mother.

Mrs. Chance was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Chance; son-in-law, Robert W. Farrell, Jr.; and brother, J.D. French.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Ann Farrell; son, Ronald Kerry Carpenter; grandchildren, Shannon Kirk Matthews, and Teather Shadean Brooks and husband, Allen; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her church family.
