NATCHEZ – Funeral services for David Tyrone Hendricks will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Jerusalem Baptist Church under the direction of Webb Winfield Funeral Home with Pastor Dr. Johnathan T. Hargrave officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Webb Winfield Funeral Home.
A public visitation will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel and on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 9 a.m. until the service begins at the church.
David was born on July 15, 1957, in Natchez, MS to the late Kitty Stewart Hendricks and the late Roosevelt Hendricks, Sr. He was the youngest of six children.
David was a 1975 graduate of North Natchez High School and a graduate of Tougaloo College.
He was formally employed by South Central Bell, Natchez Adams Schools District, and Claiborne County School District. He retired from Alcorn State University.
He devoted his time to serving the Lord in the music ministry. David was currently the organist for the following Baptist churches: Free Spring, Bright Morning Star, Mt. Sinai, Waterloo, Greater St. Mark, and New Hope (Liberty Road).
David is survived by kinship, one son, Pastor Dr. Johnathan T. Hargrave and his wife Angelita; one grandson, Christopher Hargrave; one brother, Freddie Hendricks; two sisters, Josephine Watson and Diane (Joe) Good; through, friendship, marriage, and family connections he leaves to cherish his memories, Samuel Woods, Sr., Kenan (Kiera) Johnson, Shaneka (Ulric) Minor, Samuel (Tykia) Woods, Jr., seven “grands”, six “uncle babies”, and a conglomerate of nieces, nephews, cousins.
