NATCHEZ — The Adams County Board of Supervisors met briefly on Monday morning to allow Cathedral and Natchez High School baseball teams to play tonight at the newly renovated Chester Willis Field.
The signing of a notice of substantial completion form releasing NK Stubbs, the general contractor on the $2.2 million project, from any liability for damage that may occur caused by playing tonight on the field, was mostly a formality, said Kevin Wilson, president of the Board of Supervisors.
“We had to sign off that they are 95 percent complete with the work at the ballpark in order for them to play ball tonight,” Wilson said. “There is still a punch list contractors have to complete, but the project is substantially finished.”
Only three supervisors attended the meeting — Wilson, District 1 Supervisor Wes Middleton and District 3 Supervisor Angela Hutchins — which was enough to give the board a quorum and take official action.
