Key items on city’s Tuesday meeting agenda

NATCHEZ — Approval of a request for proposals for the north end of the Depot and discussion of a contract with the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society for the care of animals at a building on the Humane Society property are key items on the agenda of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen meeting on Tuesday night.
The mayor and board meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Council Chamber, 115 S. Pearl St., across from city hall.
The meeting will include a public hearing to adjudicate properties in the city deemed to be in poor condition or dilapidated.
The agenda also includes:
• a presentation by Deanna L. Kimbro, Home Bank’s Mississippi Market President, Dee Green, Home Bank’s Director of Mortgage Sales and Scott Cobb, Home Bank Mortgage Loan Officer, on the HELP, or Homebuyer Equity Leverage Program.
• a public hearing on the 2024 Land and Water Conservation Fund.
• a report by Public Works Director Justin Dollar on a downtown traffic study contract with Volkert Engineering; permission to advertise for general bids; a discussion of the city’s surplus public works equipment and a request for approval to contract with Red Bird Auction Co. for the disposal of surplus equipment.
• a proposal for property valuation by CBIZ Valuation Group LLC as recommended by Byrne Insurance Agency, the city’s insurance carrier.
• approval of the annual Crepe Myrtle treatment at the Watkins Street Cemetery.
The meeting also may include an executive session involving personnel and litigation.
