NATCHEZ – Thomas Colten “Cole” Carter was born June 21, 1973, in Natchez, MS. His parents were Robert Joseph Carter and Priscilla Floyd Carter. He attended Natchez High School in Natchez, MS. After graduation, he attended Copiah Lincoln Junior College. He worked several jobs during his life and after years of hospitalizations he became disabled. He passed away at home on Jan. 2, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Joseph Carter; his paternal grandparents, Sidney Carter and Cecil Carter Haik; as well as his maternal grandparents, Thomas E. Floyd and Virginia McBride Floyd.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Priscilla Floyd Haile and Clarence N. Haile; brothers, Joseph Christian Carter and Monty Austin Brown and his wife, Amanda K. Brown and their children, Madden Avery and Marianna Presley Brown. Other family members are stepbrother, Greg Haile and children, stepsisters, Susan Gainey, Lisa Cotten, Marla Scott, Linda Vance, and their children, and other extended family members.
A Memorial Service will be held at Grace United Methodist Church in Natchez, MS on Jan. 20, 2024, at 2 p.m.
