Advisory downgraded for Miss-Lou to Winter Weather Advisory

NATCHEZ — The National Weather Service Jackson has downgraded the Winter Storm Watch for the Miss-Lou to a Winter Weather Advisory in effect for 8 a.m. Monday to 6 a.m. on Tuesday.
Forecasters predict a mix of freezing rain and sleet with a total ice accumulation of one tenth of an inch in addition to light sleet accumulation up to two tents of an inch.
The Winter Weather Advisory is in effect of northeast Louisiana and central, northeast and west central Mississippi.
Hazardous travel is expected, and power outages may occur.
Chance of precipitation in the Miss-Lou for Monday during the day is 30 percent. Monday night chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
On Tuesday, partly sunny skies are forecast with a high near 30 with wind gusts as high as 30 miles per hour.
Tuesday night, skies are forecast to be clear with a low of 12 degrees.
Wednesday’s high for Natchez is forecast to be near 44 with a low Wednesday night of around 28.
