Adams County Christian School
Sean Kerry Cothern — A sophomore, Cothern made 86 tackles, one sack and recovered a fumble. He was named the school’s Most Valuable Linebacker after the team won a state championship.
Braden Poole — A sophomore, Poole flew to the ball making 68 tackles, two sacks, two fumble recoveries and one interception.
Damion Johnson — A senior, Johnson made 36 tackles and three interceptions while playing both ways for the Rebels. Johnson earned a Golden Helmet Award from ACCS.
Kentrell Stampley — A junior, Stampley made 43 tackles, 2 sacks and had a scoop and score for the Rebels in 2023. He helped the program win a state championship.
Cathedral
Braden Gregg — A senior, Gregg made 77 total tackles for the Green Wave with 58 solo tackles. He also made three tackles for a loss. Gregg recovered two fumbles for the Green Wave.
Matt Kaiser — A senior, Kaiser made 72 total tackles for the Green Wave with 45 solo stops and 27 assists and a tackle for a loss. He made three interceptions and recovered a fumble.
Owen Jordan — A sophomore, Jordan made 59 total tackles with 38 solo stops, 21 assists and four tackles for a loss. Jordan made two fumble recoveries and forced a safety for the Green Wave. He has a lot of promise.
Cayde Jackson — A senior, Jackson made 48 total tackles, 26 solo and 22 assisted stops. He had a tackle for a loss, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries.
Delta Charter
Davis Cooper — A senior, Cooper made an impact for the Storm leading the team to a district championship. He was a leader and named the district defensive MVP.
Lawson Reyes — A senior, Reyes was a solid linebacker for the Storm. He was also named to the LHSAA 4-1A 1st team defense.
Titus Harrell — A junior, Harrell was a force to be reckoned with on the defensive line. He was named to the LHSAA 4-1A 1st team defense after a district championship season.
Layne King — A junior free safety, King’s name was called frequently during the Storm’s season as he flew around to the ball. He was selected to the LHSAA 4-1A 1st team defense.
Franklin County
Ramsey Brown — A senior lineman, Brown forced a fumble against Wilkinson County in one of the Bulldogs wins this season with his sheer power.
Keyundre Fulton — A senior, Fulton played both ways for the Bulldogs and was a phenomenal leader on both sides of the ball. The linebacker will be missed next season.
Ferriday
Howard Curry — A senior, Curry led the team with 56 total tackles, 31 solo stops and 25 assists. He averaged 5.6 tackles per game and had 1.5 sacks. Curry forced three fumbles and made an interception.
CJ Reed — A junior, Reed made 51 tackles and 13.5 sacks for the Trojans. He was a terror to opposing quarterbacks with 18 hurries. He forced five fumbles and recovered two fumbles.
Marvin Davis — A sophomore, Davis made 37 tackles with 16 solo stops and 21 assists. He forced a fumble and had nine sacks for the Trojans.
Andrew Foster — A freshman, Foster has a bright future after the 2023 season with 18 tackles in nine games. Quarterbacks should be advised to not throw a football in his vicinity. He made three interceptions and deflected four passes.
Jefferson County
Jermall Williams — A junior, Williams was named the defensive player of the year due to his 125 tackles, three sacks, 10 tackles for a loss, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown. He should be a strong senior leader next year.
Jaekwon Collins — A junior, Collins made 98 tackles with 74 solo stops and 6 tackles for a loss. He had two interceptions, a fumble recovery and two forced fumbles.
London Johnson — A senior, Johnson made 13 sacks for the Tigers. He had 51 tackles, 36 solo stops, and six tackles for a loss. He additionally was named to the super 22 team.
Deanthony Miller — A sophomore, Miller made six interceptions. He made 65 tackles and 53 of those were solo stops. He was named to the super 22 team.
Natchez
Lannen Moore — A senior, Moore led the Bulldogs with 106 tackles. Moore had 66 solo stops, eight tackles for a loss, one sack and one forced fumble for Natchez. He was named to the All-District team.
Jeremiah Tillery — A junior, Tillery had 104 tackles, 57 of those solo stops, 10 tackles for a loss, one sack and a fumble recovery for the Bulldogs. He was named to the All-District team.
Jakeel Irving — A senior, Irving made 83 tackles with 14 tackles for a loss. He had nine sacks and 40 quarterback hurries. Irving also recovered two fumbles and forced one.
Gary Bailey — A senior, Bailey was selected to play in the Magnolia All-Stars Senior bowl for his efforts in 2023. He made five interceptions, forced two fumbles, 84 tackles with 4 tackles for a loss.
Vidalia
Tristan Briggs — A senior, Briggs made 75 stops for the Vikings this season. He had three tackles for a loss and three sacks and one fumble recovery for Vidalia.
Kabari Davis — A senior, Davis made 73 stops for Vidalia. He had two tackles for a loss, one sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
Jalen Hueing — A senior, Hueing made two interceptions and averaged 35.5 yards per return. He also had 68 tackles for the Vikings.
John Jones — A senior, Jones made 53 tackles, forced one fumble for the Vikings. He had five tackles for a loss and his leadership will be missed next season.
Wilkinson County Christian Academy
Gavin Davis — A senior, Davis had a 64 yard punt return for a touchdown this year and was a leader on the defensive side of the ball. He will be missed next season.
Charles Grezaffi — A sophomore, Grezaffi stepped up this year and has a bright future ahead of him. He was a tackling machine for the Rams.
Wilkinson County High School
Cameron Woodard — A junior, Woodard was named to the Region 7-2A All District team. The cornerback will return next season and will be key player on the team.
Jayden Dunbar — A junior, Dunbar was named to the Region 7-2A All-District team this year. The defensive end should be a strong senior leader next season.
