WEATHER UPDATE: Natchez schools delay start due to inclement weather

Natchez Adams School District will do a delayed start this morning. Elementary will start at 9:45; middle school at 10; Natchez High School and Natchez Early College at 10:15. Building level staff will report at 9 a.m. and central office will report at 8 a.m.
Copiah Lincoln Community College, Natchez campus delayed opening to 10 a.m.
NATCHEZ — Adams County Christian School and Cathedral School will have virtual and distance learning on Friday due to inclement weather expected to hit as early as 4 a.m.
Concordia Parish Schools canceled school for students Friday and is delaying the time for staff to report to work until 10:30 a.m. if weather allows, said Superintendent Toyua Bachus.
Natchez Adams School District is waiting for morning to make any call on whether to open or close schools Friday, said public engagement coordinator Tony Fields.
Adams County and City of Natchez business offices — apart from 911, public works, and other essential workers — will delay the start of business Friday until 10 a.m.
According to the National Weather Service, a storm system is expected to be at its worst for the region between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. Friday. Damaging winds up to 60 or 70 miles per hour, small hail and tornadoes are possible.
Those who wish to report a down tree obstructing roads should call 911, Adams County Emergency Management Officials said.
