NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Lauretta Marie Young, 74, of Natchez, who passed away on Dec. 23, 2023, will be held on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at Zion Chapel #2 in Kingston at 12 p.m. with Pastor Stanley Searcy Jr under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation services will be held on Friday, Jan. 5, 2024, from 3 until 5 p.m. at Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Natchez, and Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at the church from 11 a.m. until service time.

Lauretta “Sue” was born on Feb. 19, 1949, in Adams County, MS, to Booker T. May and Thelma Jones. Lauretta was a member of Lucinda Robinson Eastern Star.

Lauretta “Sue” is preceded in death by her parents, Thelma Jones and Booker T. May; two sisters, Addie Williams and Edna Jones; three brothers, Richard Jones, Kalip Jones, and Jessie L. Jones, and one niece, Erica Dominque Jones.

Lauretta “Sue” leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Cleveland Young; four daughters, Doris (Tracey) Jefferson, Gladys (M.C.Kinley) Phipps, Tracy Bernard, and Rhonda (Ericka) Young; three sisters, Delores (Earnest) Galbert, Augustine Jones and Vanessa Jones; four brothers, Booker T. (Blanche) Jones, Arthur L. Jones, Glen (Gloria) Jones and Eddie Jones; one aunt, Augustine Reynolds; six blended sisters, Luvena Williams, Stella Williams, Delores Williams, Helen Pullin, Dorothy Williams, and Celestine Strauder; two blended brothers, Robert Williams, and Booker T. Williams; a special friend, Linda J. Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
