Butler Scholarship applications now available

NATCHEZ — Applications are now being accepted for Sen. Kelvin E. Butler Scholarship Award.
Three $500 cash scholarships will be awarded to three students who have lived in Adams, Amite, Pike, Walthall and Wilkinson counties for at least one year. The scholarships will be awarded based on academic achievement and financial need.
The scholarship is only available for students who are going to register as a full-time student at a college or university for the 2010-2011 school year.
The deadline to apply is Aug. 1, and applications can be downloaded from the Web site www.kelvinbutler.com.
Butler (D-Magnolia) represents District 38, which is comprised of the aforementioned counties. The scholarship is funded by private donations to Butler’s political arm.
