NATCHEZ —The Natchez-Adams School Board has not shared the details of its search for a Natchez High principal.
The board was set to discuss the position at its last board meeting, but any decision has not been made public yet.
Principal James Loftin learned in February that his contract would not be renewed.
While district officials are barred from discussing personnel issues, Loftin said he was told his contract was not being renewed because of insubordination, conduct unbecoming of a professional, failure to supervise his staff and failure to follow hiring procedures.
After first saying he was not interested in saying at NHS, he later wrote to the school asking for his job back.
Thursday, Loftin said he has still received no word from the district on whether or not his contract will be renewed.
NASD Superintendent Anthony Morris said he could not discuss if Loftin had been rehired or if Loftin had been contacted with news on any decision made.
“Right now were interviewing applicants for all of our open administrative positions,” Morris said.
Loftin said until he receives word from the district, he will continue looking for employment outside of the district.
