Stamp-Out Hunger was big help

The postal patrons of Natchez once again gave about four and a half tons of non-perishable food items during the postal employees Stamp-Out Hunger day Saturday, May 14.

You left food items by mailboxes on that day for pickup by your mail carrier.

This food in turn went to five local charities that will get them to the needy in their regular ways.

On behalf of those who ultimately receive this food, thank you, and thanks to the National Association of Letter Carriers.

Thanks also for the publicity given to this event — especially by The Natchez Democrat. In Natchez, when people are informed about a needed charity event, they respond and give generously.

Many people will be better fed because of this once-a-year national project. Thank you, postal employees, for your leadership on this project.
