Adams County Circuit Court Cases — End Results

Thursday, Oct. 6:

Jameco Davis pleaded guilty to aggravated assault (Count I) in Judge Blackwell’s court. Pursuant to plea agreement, the State shall dismiss Count II (shooting into a dwelling) and Count III (shooting into a vehicle).

Sentenced to serve 10 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. This sentence shall run concurrently with the sentence in Adams County Cause No. 21-KR-0130. Must pay all court costs and fees, including a $250.00 prosecution fee.

Wednesday, Oct. 5:

Colton R. Prescott pleaded guilty to the lesser included charge in Count I of second degree murder and to the lesser included charge in Count II of second degree murder in Judge Blackwell’s court on Tuesday, Oct. 4. Pursuant to plea agreement, the State shall not seek the firearm enhancement pursuant to Mississippi Code 97-37-37(1). Sentenced in Count I to serve 30 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. On Count II, the court sentenced the defendant to serve 30 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections. These sentences are to run consecutively. Must pay all court costs and fees, including a $250.00 prosecution fee.

Monday, Oct. 3:

Darren Fleming pleaded guilty to trafficking of Schedule II Controlled Substance (methamphetamine), more than forty (40) dosage units in Judge Blackwell’s court. Pursuant to plea agreement, Count II (trafficking of Schedule II Controlled Substance [hydrocodone]) and Count III (possession of a stolen firearm enhancement) shall be dismissed, and the State shall not pursue charges against the defendant on an unindicted criminal matter.

Sentenced to 20 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with full credit for time served, with 10 years to serve, and 10 years suspended, the first five years to be served on formal reporting post-release supervision, and the remaining five years to be server on informal non-reporting post-release supervision. The 10-year mandatory sentence shall not be reduced or suspended. The person shall not be eligible for probation or parole. Must pay a fine to the Adams County Sheriff’s Drug Fund of $2,500.00, restitution to the Adams County Sheriff’s Department of $120.00, all court costs, and fees, including a $250.00 prosecution fee, payable within two years after the defendant beings serving formal reporting post-release supervision.
