GREENVILLE — The Natchez Dixie Youth 7-8-year-old coach pitch All-Star team has won two games in the sub-district tournament and looks to stay alive tonight against Lincoln County.

Natchez opened its tournament on Tuesday night with a 19-11 win over Summitt.

Natchez was led by Sterling Yarborough, Sawyer Allen, Andrew Merritt, Dylan Troxler, Alex McCready, Marcus Hooker and P.J. Hargrave, who all had multiple hits in the game.

Natchez dropped into the loser’s bracket with a 26-1 loss to McComb but came back strong from that defeat with a 20-13 win over Walthall County on Thursday night in an elimination game.

Merritt and Yarborough were the hitting stars in that game, as both hit home runs.

Troxler added a triple for Natchez while 10 different players had multiple hits.

Allen, Hunter Carroll, Hargrave, Tyler Lindsey, Ben Foster, Yarborough, McCready, Will Ray, Jakel Barnes and Hooker all had multiple hits in the winning effort.

Natchez will try to keep its tournament alive again today when they face Lincoln County at 6 p.m. in another elimination game.
