Concordia Americans stay alive

VIDALIA — The Concordia Americans scored 11 runs in the first inning as they rolled to a 14-4 win over South Franklin Friday afternoon at the Vidalia Baseball Complex to stay alive in the 7-8 Machine Pitch Dixie Youth Sub-district Tournament.
Trey Poole and Dawson Parker each scored two runs for the Concordia Americans, who added one run each in the second, third and fourth innings. Scoring one run each were Nick Melton, Tanner Jenkins, Caden Poole, Trent Jordan, Drake Smith, Tony Tolliver, Doddie Smith, Trenton Miller, Paul Cupstid and Jacob Beard.
Tanner Roberts, L.T. Majors, Kedgrick Thomas and Sam Broussard scored one run each for South Franklin, which scored two runs in the second inning and its other two runs in the fourth inning.
The Concordia Americans will take on the Winnsboro Nationals in an elimination game today at 6 p.m.
