WAVELAND (AP) — Authorities are investigating the death of a 10-year-old Waveland girl killed in a boating accident on the Jourdan River in Hancock County.

Hancock County Coroner Norma Stiglet says Madison Camille Karno died about 5 p.m. Friday when the inner tube she was riding on hit something in the river. Stiglet says Karno was being pulled on the inner tube behind a boat when the accident occurred. She suffered head injuries.

Stiglet said the accident was being investigated by state marine agencies.
