Inmates allegedly smuggle drugs

VIDALIA — Three inmates at the Concordia Parish Correctional Facility are facing new charges after one inmate allegedly smuggled marijuana into the facility.
In a statement from Concordia Parish Sheriff Randy Maxwell, inmate Myron Toussaint, 23, allegedly obtained marijuana while outside of the facility on a work detail.
Toussaint allegedly hid the contraband in a deodorant container.
Inmates Fredrick Saulsberry, 25, of Ferriday and Michael P. Boyd, 19, of Clayton then allegedly attempted to bribe a correctional officer with $300 to bring them the marijuana from another dorm.
The officer reported the bribery and confiscated the marijuana.
Toussaint was charged with felony distribution of Schedule I drugs, introduction of contraband into a penal facility and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Boyd and Saulsberry were charged with bribery and introduction of contraband into a prison facility.
All three men were arrested Tuesday.
