Free COVID-19 testing available Concordia Parish, three new positive cases

VIDALIA — On Tuesday, the Concordia Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness reported three new positive COVID-19 cases in the parish and a total of 114 cases reported in the parish since the outbreak.
All three of the new COVID-19 cases were African American and female patients who are ages 18, 34, and 26, said Concordia Parish OEP Director, Timothy Vanier.
Out of the total number of COVID-19 cases, 92 were African American, 20 were Caucasian and two were Hispanic, Vanier said.
Vanier said 73 of the COVID-19 patients since the outbreak were female and 41 were male.
As of Tuesday, Vanier said there are 44 active COVID-19 cases, 64 inactive cases and six COVID-19 deaths in the parish with the majority of patients being between 40 and 60 years old.
Vanier said there would be free COVID-19 testing from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, at Monterey High School and again from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, June 26, at the Old Concordia Parish Library at 8723 Louisiana Highway 566 in Clayton.
