RIDGECREST — Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Louise Maples, 92 of Ridgecrest, LA will be held at Pentecostals of the Miss Lou at Ferriday on Monday, June 22, 2020, at 10 a.m. with Bishop Gary Howington and Bro. Jeremy Howington officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Natchez, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Mrs. Maples was born on Monday, November 14, 1927 in Natchez and passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at home with her family by her side. She was a faithful member and prayer warrior of Pentecostal of the Miss-Lou.
She was preceeded in death by her husband – Virgil Maples; daughter- Virgie Lou Jacques; parents Lonnie and Jannie Ashley; grandson-Dean Travis Wilson; son-in-law George Scott; brothers – Talmadge Ashley, Nathan Ashley, William Ashley, George Ashley, Prim Ashley; and sisters, Rebecca Mercer and Hazel Maples.
Survivors include: daughters – Laura Sontoyo and husband Joe, Ferriday, LA, Daughter Betty Wooten and husband Jerry, Ferriday, LA, Katherine Wilson, Ridgecrest, LA, Mary Tyson Scott, Natchez, MS, Son Earl Wayne Maples, Ferriday, LA, Sister Dorothy Price, Sicily Island, LA. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
A special thanks to our sister Katherine and niece Kathy Jo for the faithful care that they gave to Mom. Also to special friend Polly Cassels and Encompass Health Phillip, Sara, Nicole, Erica, and Charlene.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Wilson, Bo Stevens, Charles Stevens, Jason Tyson, Stephen Wells, and Justin Stevens.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Earl Maples, Jr, Koen Tyson, Joe Sontoyo, Jerry Wooten and Jordan Sanders.
