Mississippi updates COVID numbers on Wednesday

The Mississippi State Department of Health on Wednesday reported 489 new COVID-19 cases and 23 new COVID-19 deaths.
As of Wednesday, Adams County had 227 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 18 deaths due to COVID-19, with 43 of Adams County’s COVID-19 cases and 10 deaths from long term care facilities.
Of Adams County’s 226 total confirmed COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday, six cases are active with 189 recovered and 220 expired with 17 deaths, according to the Adams County Emergency Management Agency.
The Adams County Correctional Facility, located off of U.S. 84 is reporting 34 total confirmed COVID-19 cases among detainees with 20 of those still being active and the detainees still under isolation and being monitored. The correctional facility has not reported any deaths.
The state now has 20,641 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 938 deaths.
Also as of Wednesday, 466 individuals statewide were in hospitals with COVID-19.
