NATCHEZ — Private burial services for Ruth Lee Burns Norbitt, 87, of Natchez, MS, who passed away at Adams County Nursing Home, on June 4, 2020, will be held on Friday, June 12, 2020, at Natchez National Cemetery at 10 a.m. under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend walk-through visitation services on Thursday, June 11, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Natchez, MS. Please wear masks as admittance will not be permitted without one and practice social distancing.
Ruth was born on October 24, 1932, in Natchez, MS, to the late Mose Johnson, Jr., Johana B. Johnson and Margurite Dorsey.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert “Bo-Bo” Norbitt, Sr.; grandsons, Mark Burns and Michael Robinson; great grandson Trevon Wesley; brother, Richard Johnson; and sister, Stellastin Anderson.
Left to cherish a lifetime of memories, four daughters: Maxine (Willie Wright) Seals; Gwendolyn (Edward) Proby; Nancy (Elbert, Sr.) Dixon; and Lydia Banks Reed. Four sons: Alvin (Erena) Shelby, Sr.; Jerome (Dr. Elizabeth) Myles, Sr.; Sidney Wayne Smith; and Carl Easton. Five sisters: Joanne (Eugene) Brown; Shirley (Hillary) Nash; Emogene Johnson; Melva (Michael) Devalt; and Tywana (Clarence) Jones. Seven brothers: Mose (Ethel) Johnson, III; Jesse Johnson; Ernest Johnson; Rev. Jerry (Patricia) Johnson; Joseph Johnson; Henry (Cassandra) Johnson, Sr.; and Keitherick (Jackie) Johnson; 31 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and special friends.
