HAMBURG — Graveside services for Edith Smith Lewis, 81, of Natchez, who died on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at Merit Health Hospital-Natchez will be held at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Hamburg with Rev. Carl Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow at the cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Edith was born July 9, 1938, in Elkins, West Virginia, the daughter of Alfred Smith and Anna Ennis Smith. She graduated from high school in Elkins and studied nursing at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MA. Edith was a retired aircraft parts inspector with U.T.C. Mrs. Lewis was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Hamburg where she served as a deaconess and was the president of the Baptist Women’s Mission. She was also a member of the State Association of Elks. Edith enjoyed fishing and traveling.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Edith leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Freddy Lewis; three sons, Donald Blake, Kevin Blake and wife Lynn and Alfred Blake and wife Stacy; two daughters, Kim Wimbish and husband Mark and Rosalie Walker and husband Louis; 12 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren , other relatives and friends.
