Graveside services for William Harold “Buster” Coley, 82, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, May 27, 2020, in Vidalia will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2020, at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Brother John Collard and Gene Coley officiating.  Services are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Coley was born Oct. 3, 1937, in Natchez, MS the son of Allen L. and Eva Mae Hammack Coley.

On June 07, 1959, Mr. Coley married Ida Mae Newman Coley. He was called to active duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis.  In 1989 he retired from the Mississippi National Guard.  For many years he was the produce manager at the A & P downtown until they closed.  He then worked at Natchez Market and Southside Market until 2014 and also helped at Passbach meats and Dunns Deer Market.  He was a member of the American Legion and the treasurer of his Sunday School class at Highland Baptist Church.

Mr. Coley was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Viviann E. Coley Taylor; brother Allen B. Coley; sister in law Carolyn Coley; and two sisters Estella Eugenia Coley and Flora Mae Coley Nelson.

Survivors include three sons William E. (Gene) Coley and wife Lynn of Paducah, KY, Amos W. Coley and wife Shelly of Jena LA, and Kevin K. Coley and wife Lisa of Vidalia; two sisters Vivian Webb of Natchez and Mary Brumfield of Natchez; son in law Mark Taylor; brother in law Dale Nelson; grandchildren Jessica Kennedy, Will Coley, Seth Coley, Sarah Coley, Kristle Messer, Palmer Johnson, Amber Spence, Jon Mark Taylor, Ami Caldwell, Nick Coley, Adam Coley, Teacy Coley, Kyle Coley, and Kaylee Coley and 17 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Coley, Adam Coley, Nick Coley, Will Coley, Jon Mark Taylor and Seth Coley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Spence, Brent Johnson, Michael Messer, Russell Caldwell, Justin Kennedy and Claude Harrigill.

The family would like to thank Encompass Hospice, Mr. Coley’s sitter Mrs. Lillian Harris, Dr. Ed Daly, and friend Claude Harrigill.
