NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Elouise Hawkins Bass, 95, of Natchez, who died Saturday, May 16, 2020, in Natchez will be held at St. Paul Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Joe W. Pickett officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Elouise was born July 26, 1924, in Washington, the daughter of David “Jack” Hawkins and Minerva Davis Hawkins. She attended Old Washington School and was a retired private sitter and housekeeper at Windmill Motel. Mrs. Bass was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing and watching wrestling. Elouise also attended the Senior Citizen Center for many years and enjoyed the Thursday Senior Worship Services.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Charles Edward Bass, Sr. and daughter, Catherine Bass.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, James Bass and wife Linda of Memphis, Tennessee and Charles E. Bass Jr. and wife Pat of Natchez; eight daughters, Katie R. Simms of Las Vegas, Nevada, Hattie B. Dotson, Minerva B. Pickett and husband Pastor Joe W. and Deloris B. Ford and companion Joe James, all of Natchez, Gloria B. Bryant and husband Elder Alvis, Therisa B. Baker and husband Theodore, Valerie B. Wade and husband Shawn and Vanessa B. Clarke and husband Rudolph, all of Houston, Texas; sister, Ruby Whiting and husband Audley of Chicago, Illinois; 31 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
