Concordia Parish Office of Homeland Security officials reported four new cases of the novel coronavirus in the parish on Friday, brining the parish total to 57.
A 55 year old white male, 17 year old African American female and 14 year old African American male all tested positive for the virus and are quarantined at home, said Timothy Vanier, OEP Director Concordia Parish.
The status of a 29-year-old African American female who also tested positive is unknown as of Friday, Vanier said.
Of the 57 positive COVID-19 cases in the parish, Vanier said there have been four deaths, 18 are active cases and 35 parish residents recovered from the disease.
Vanier said the majority of those cases were among African Americans and females while only seven Caucasians and two Hispanics tested positive for the disease and 35 of the patients were female.
Most COVID-19 patients were between the ages of 40 and 70, 16 patients were younger than 40 and six patients were over 70, Vainer said.
